Gerakan Satu Juta Pohon di Indonesia telah menjadi momentum penting dalam upaya menjaga keberlanjutan lingkungan. Adanya evolusi yang bermula dari suatu ide sederhana, menjadi salah satu pergerakan nasional, yang berdampak positif bagi kelestarian lingkungan.

Ia merasa bahwa bulan Januari merupakan waktu yang tepat, karena cuacanya yang sedang baik pada bulan tersebut.

Gerakan ini meraih pencapaian yang mengesankan dengan menanam ratusan ribu pohon diseluruh Indonesia dalam dua dekade pertama. Dampak positif yang dirasakan pun tidak hanya terasa pada luasan hutan, tetapi juga pada peningkatan kualitas udara, penyediaan sumber air, dan juga perlindungan terhadap berbagai spesies flora dan fauna.

Banyak pihak baik pemerintah daerah, lembaga swadaya masyarakat, maupun perusahaan swasta turut aktif berpartisipasi untuk menyukseskan gerakan ini. Data statistik menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dalam jumlah pohon yang ditanam setiap tahunnya. Hingga tahun 2022, sebanyak 5 juta orang berpartisipasi aktif dalam menanam > 500 juta pohon. Keberlangsungan hidup pohon mencapai rata – rata efektivitas hingga 80% dalam upaya perawatan dan pemeliharaan.
