Sebagai bentuk nyata implementasi Instruksi Presiden Nomor 9 Tahun 2016 tentang Revitalisasi Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK), Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Kemendikbud) terus melakukan penguatan link and match dengan dunia usaha dan dunia industri (DU/DI).
Komitmen jangka panjang ini dinilai sangat menguntungkan antara sekolah menengah kejuruan (SMK) dengan dunia usaha dan dunia industri (DUDI). Adapun program kerjasama antara pihak SMK dengan DUDI pun menjadi syarat mutlak keberhasilan pendidikan vokasi nantinya.
Adanya DU/DI kini membuat para lulusan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) memiliki peluang lebih besar untuk mendapat pekerjaan. Pasalnya, sebagian besar SMK saat ini sudah terhubung atau menjalin kerja sama dengan pihak dunia usaha dan industri (DU/DI).
Dunia usaha dan industri (DU/DI) sendiri pun memiliki peran dalam membantu pelaksanaan praktik kerja industri atau magang bagi guru maupun siswa SMK. Mitras DUDI nantinya akan memilih pegawai baru dari siswa SMK sesuai kompetensi yang dibutuhkan.
Kerja sama dengan DU/DI tidak hanya terpaku pada penyediaan praktik kerja lapangan atau magang bagi siswa saja, namun juga meliputi pengembangan kompetensi guru kejuruan, penyelarasan kurikulum, penyediaan sarana dan prasarana pendidikan, sertifikasi kompetensi, hingga rekrutmen lulusan SMK.
Pelaksana Tugas Direktur Jenderal Pendidikan Dasar dan Menengah (Plt. Dirjen Dikdasmen) sekaligus Sekretaris Jenderal (Sesjen) Kemendikbud, Didik Suhardi mengatakan bahwa “Ada kewajiban setiap SMK akan didirikan, sudah jelas industri mana yang diajak bekerja sama. Sehingga jurusan yang ditawarkan menjadi sangat jelas. Jangan sampai begitu meluluskan, tidak pernah ada kerja sama, dan anak didik belum pernah melaksanakan praktik kerja industri.” Kamis (25/7/2019).
Sebagai manajer pada satuan pendidikan, Mendikbud mengatakan bahwa kepala sekolah harus seperti CEO perusahaan. Harus bisa mengelola sekolahnya dalam mencari dan mengembangkan peluang kerja sama dengan industri dan dunia kerja. Guru-guru dan instruktur harus mau berlatih dan meningkatkan kompetensinya agar terus relevan dengan kompetensi yang digunakan dan dibutuhkan oleh industri dan dunia kerja. “Jadi penting sekali Kepala, Guru, Instruktur SMK terbuka pada perubahan, dan melihat peluang perubahan,” imbuhnya mas Menteri, Nadiem Makarim.
Belum lama ini, Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Kemendikbud) RI melalui Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Vokasi, meluncurkan Program Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan(SMK)–Diploma Dua (D2) Jalur Cepat dan Program Peningkatan Prodi Diploma Tiga menjadi Sarjana Terapan (Diploma Empat-D4).
Kedua program Merdeka Vokasi yang mengusung semangat Merdeka Belajar ini merupakan terobosan Ditjen Pendidikan Vokasi. Tujuannya untuk mewujudkan percepatan misi Kemendikbud dalam memperbesar keterserapan lulusan pendidikan vokasi oleh Dunia Usaha dan Dunia Industri (DUDI).
Program ini pun mendapat sambutan yang baik dari Nadiem Makarim selaku Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan. Menurutnya, kedua program ini merupakan terobosan baru yang tidak hanya menambah daya tarik pendidikan vokasi juga memberikan kesempatan kepada peserta didik untuk dapat memilih yang terbaik untuk dirinya.
“Selain itu, kedua program ini memberikan kesempatan pendidikan vokasi untuk mempersiapkan calon tenaga kerja yang handal dan matang,” ujar Mendikbud melalui video telekonferensi pada kegiatan peluncuran Program Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK)– Diploma Dua (D2) Jalur Cepat dan Program Peningkatan Prodi Diploma Tiga menjadi Sarjana Terapan (Diploma Empat-D4) di Madiun, Jumat (13/11).
