Tahun baru Imlek 2575 Kongzili, merupakan perayaan tahun baru kaum Tionghoa, yang jatuh pada tanggal 10 Februari 2024 untuk menandai awal tahun naga. Istilah “Kongzili” ini digunakan untuk penanggalan berdasarkan peredaran bulan yang mengelilingi bumi selama 12 bulan. Sejarah Tahun Baru Imlek dapat ditelusuri kembali ke zaman kuno Tiongkok. Berasal dari kisah tentang seekor monster laut bernama Nian, yang muncul setiap malam tahun baru untuk memakan manusia dan hewan ternak. Hal ini membuat orang-orang mengungsi ke pegunungan terpencil untuk menghindari celaka yang diperbuat monster tersebut.


Hingga suatu saat, seorang lelaki tua dengan rambut putih dan kulit kemerahan mengunjungi desa tersebut. Ia menolak untuk bersembunyi dan berhasil menakuti monster itu dengan menempelkan kertas merah di pintu, membakar bambu untuk membuat suara retakan yang keras (pendahulu petasan), menyalakan lilin di rumah-rumah, dan mengenakan pakaian merah.
Sejak saat itulah, setiap malam tahun baru, orang-orang melakukan apa yang diperintahkan lelaki tua itu hingga menjadi tradisi tersendiri.
Tradisi ini terus berlanjut hingga saat ini dan menjadi cara penting untuk merayakan datangnya Tahun Baru Imlek. Saat ini, perayaan ini dirayakan dengan beraneka macam tradisi, termasuk makan malam bersama keluarga, membersihkan rumah, dan memberikan amplop merah.
